What Therapy Looks Like Here
A grounded, holistic approach to therapy in Olympia and across Washington
If you’re wondering what therapy with me is actually like, you’re in the right place. This page answers common questions about how I work, what to expect in sessions, and whether this kind of therapy might be a good fit for you.
My approach is relational, holistic, and grounded in nervous system awareness. While we focus on your emotional world, I also pay attention to how stress, patterns, and the body are involved, always at your pace and with your consent.
There’s no pressure to know exactly what you need before you start. This is simply a place to learn, orient yourself, and take the next step if and when it feels right.
FAQ about therapy
-
My therapy practice is inclusive and welcoming to all. I work with adults of all genders, including men, non-binary, and transgender individuals. Most of my clients are 16 and older and come from a wide range of backgrounds and identities.
I offer holistic, relationship-based therapy in Olympia and through virtual sessions across Washington State. My goal is to create a supportive space where you feel respected, seen, and valued for who you are.
-
Holistic therapy looks at more than just thoughts or behaviors. While we absolutely talk about emotions and life experiences, I also pay attention to how stress, patterns, relationships, and the nervous system show up in your day-to-day life.
My approach is relational, body-aware, and integrative. That means we may gently notice things like stress responses, energy levels, or nourishment patterns if they feel relevant. You don’t have to focus on nutrition or the body if you don’t want to. These are simply additional lenses I bring when they support your healing.
-
Possibly, but only if it feels relevant and supportive for you. As a therapist with training in functional nutritional therapy and amino acid support, I naturally notice how nourishment, stress, and the nervous system can affect emotional wellbeing.
That said, therapy with me does not require focusing on nutrition or the body. Some clients find it helpful, others never go there at all. This is about supporting you as a whole person, not following a prescribed approach.
-
Absolutely. It’s completely normal to feel nervous about starting therapy. Talking about feelings can feel vulnerable, and even reaching out can bring up anxiety. Just by being here and reading this, you’re already taking a meaningful step.
Therapy with me is meant to feel grounded and human, not rushed or clinical. We move at your pace, and you don’t have to have the “right” words. If it helps, we can talk through what this might look like during a free phone consultation before you decide anything.
-
Take your time exploring my website and getting a feel for my approach. If something resonates, you’re welcome to reach out for a free phone consultation. During that call, you can ask questions about how I work, my background, or what therapy with me is like.
The first few sessions are a chance to see how it feels to work together. Therapy is a relationship, and feeling safe and comfortable matters. We can explore that together without pressure.
-
You’re never required to talk about anything you’re not ready to share. Holistic therapy doesn’t mean pushing past your limits. It means honoring where you are.
Sometimes we work with what feels safest to start, whether that’s current stress, patterns you’ve noticed, or how your body responds to certain situations. You always have choice in what we explore and when.
-
The duration of therapy varies for each client. On average, new clients start seeing improvements after the first 3-4 sessions, feeling more calm and hopeful. Some clients find 6-12 weeks sufficient for gaining insights into their challenges, while others prefer longer-term therapy. We'll work together to find the length of time that works best for you. I do not believe in a one-size fits all approach to therapy.
-
Confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy. Unless you are in danger or someone else is, everything you share with me remains confidential. I highly respect your privacy and value your trust. If you have specific questions about how confidentiality works, feel free to ask during your free phone consultation or at any time during our work together.
-
The first session is a free-flowing conversation where we start getting to know each other. I’ll invite you to share more about yourself and discuss what has worked or not worked for your mental health in the past. I might ask questions like:
- What brought you to therapy?
- Have you gone to therapy before? How did that go?
- What goals would you like to reach by going to therapy?
You can also ask me questions, such as why I became a therapist or how I've helped other clients. The goal is to see if you feel safe, accepted, and comfortable with me. If you do, we can discuss meeting again.

Investing in your mental health is one of the best decisions you can make! The initial intake session is $225, where we’ll get to know each other and create a personalized plan for your journey. Following that, each 50-minute session is $200. This investment is in your well-being, growth, and overall happiness.

My practice is considered a cash practice, which means payment is due at the time of service. Payment can be made by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and many FSH or HSA accounts.
While I do not directly take insurance, I can still help you navigate insurance reimbursement. By providing a Superbill, you can seek potential reimbursement from your insurance company.
Please keep in mind that this process involves assigning a medical diagnosis, which could remain on your health record. Additionally, detailed notes may be documented and shared with your insurance company. If you choose to go this route, the Superbill will be automatically generated monthly and emailed to you for your convenience.
Be sure to check with your insurance provider about their reimbursement policies and what they cover. All policies and insurance companies differ.
